“My partner and I have had such a great experience taking Robbie's beginner Queer Ballroom classes. With absolutely no prior dance background, after 6 weeks we can confidently do 4 kinds of ballroom dance independently. Robbie creates such a warm and non-intimidating environment that makes learning so easy. Would highly recommend!”

“I've been coming to the Queer Ballroom classes since my wife and I wanted to learn a little about dancing to do a fun first dance at our wedding. We both expected the lessons to last only a few months, but that was 3 years ago... The classes are not only fun, but they've also become a wonderful source of community and joy. They're trans friendly, and the system of rotating partners means you don't have to bring anyone with you and you get to choose whether to learn each dance as a leader or follower. The level 1 classes are very casual and include lots of people (like me) with no prior experience dancing, so don't be intimidated!”

“I’d been hearing about these classes for years and my schedule finally lined up to allow me to join into the series, I doubled down and signing up for both level one and level two. I’m so glad I did. Robbie leads a fantastic class with endless poise and patience, and a great sense of humor. He breaks everything down so all can understand for the beginner classes, and offers fun and challenging (but still doable!) combos for the more advanced classes. Everyone is friendly and smiling throughout and having a great time. Can’t recommend highly enough for beginners and experienced alike. I’m hooked and am continuing on.”

“This dance community is one of the best things about NYC. Robbie does such a great job cultivating a positive, welcoming, affirming atmosphere for all—and he's a wonderful dance teacher to boot. Good people, good dancing, great community. Whether you're an experienced dancer or a curious beginner, you've come to the right place.”

“Robbie has been encouraging and fun to work with. He is an immensely talented dance instructor but he made me feel very comfortable being a beginner. He has the ability to bring anyone to the next level and his creative and flexible choreography is amazing!”
“Robbie is an amazing instructor and dancer. He inspires me at every lesson. He effortlessly pushes me to be a better dancer with his fun and engaging teaching style. His ability to help me visualize the dance and execute it makes him an invaluable teacher. I highly recommend him!”
